Fresno Scifi & Fantasy Writers is a group for local writers to meet face-to-face and discuss their work.

How do I join? ... Just contact us on the forum or by email. Our calendar shows time & place for our next meeting.

Can I just 'show up'? ... Sure. Why not? But check the calendar for last-minute change of place or time!

What happens at my first meeting? ... We discuss the pieces we've shared in advance (at the previous meeting or by email). If you want your work in the next discussion, you'll need to send us something in time for us to read it before the meeting. Contact us here or by email to arrange it. We'll also try to share with you the pieces already in the queue for discussion at the next meeting.

We meet every 1st, 3rd, (5th) Tuesday. Check our calendar below for times & places.

This is a public forum for coordinating the meetings and answering questions for anyone interested in joining us: USERNAME = guest, PASSWORD = yak.

Aw, 66! That's too young. But he left a significant legacy.

I liked the theme of his body of work: "Technology bites man in the ass." I don't think I ever read any of his novels, but I liked all the movies I saw of his stuff:

The Andromeda Strain
The Terminal Man
Congo
Sphere
Jurassic Park
Rising Sun

Those are just the ones I saw, and I dug them all. Yes, even Congo. Yes, even Sphere. Yes, they were all tech bites man.

I gave copies of "Titan" to Elle & Paula. The plan is for them to say, within a week, whether the chapter is too long to comment on. It's 16,941 words. If they say it's manageable, I'll provide it to Howard & Ed & Mellie. Aw hell, I'll stick it up anyway. But please, you guys, if this is too long a piece, please lemme know.

Anyway, at least this is a new piece for me, not something from years ago. It kinda shows where I am at now.
